Mentoring Information

While Adventures of the Mind no longer runs active mentoring camps, mentoring remains a core mission of our community. Alumni mentors are available to support high school students in areas such as finishing high school strong, preparing for college, and exploring career interests. These opportunities are designed to complement traditional education and empower students with guidance from those who have lived the journey already.

Mentoring at the Heart of Adventures of the Mind

Mentoring was the defining element of Adventures of the Mind from 2003 to 2015. The program brought accomplished leaders together with exceptional high school students in an environment designed for meaningful conversation, curiosity, and personal growth.

Students did not simply attend presentations, they engaged directly with mentors in small groups, discussions, and informal settings that encouraged questions, reflection, and exploration of future paths.

The Lasting Impact of Those Connections

Many alumni describe these mentoring interactions as life-changing. Exposure to different perspectives, career journeys, and personal stories helped students redefine what success could look like for their own lives.

That spirit of mentorship continues today through:

The wisdom shared in our collections includes Advice from Mentors, reflections from alumni in Testimonials and Letters from Campers, practical guidance for students in our Steps to Success pages, and Mentoring Forward.

While the residential program has concluded, the mentoring philosophy remains central to our mission. Alumni, mentors, and supporters of Adventures of the Mind continue to share insights and encouragement for high school students navigating academic, personal, and career decisions.
